GirlSource was founded in 1998 by entrepreneur, community activist, and author Lynn Gordon. Lynn is the author of more than 60 titles for children and adults and the creator of the popular card deck series of 52 activities, including 52 Things to Do with Your Baby, 52 Relaxing Rituals, and 52 Activities for Kids in the Car, among several others.
True to her lifelong commitment to women’s issues, Lynn used her earnings from the 52 Activities series to launch GirlSource and develop entrepreneurship among low-income high school-age girls. Lynn moved on to other projects in 2000, but GirlSource continues to be guided by its original mission of providing meaningful employment and leadership opportunities to low-income girls, ages 14-18.
